In 1916, Jack Callinan staked mineral claims in present day Flin Flon, Manitoba. Trenching and drilling conducted between 1927 and 1929 defined and began the Callinan Mine which operated until the massive, high grade 777 mine was discovered adjacent to it and put in to production in 2004. The company that Jack founded, now Callinan Royalties, still owns and controls a royalty in in the 777 deposit, and the ground that surrounds it.
In 2011, the exploration properties of Callinan Mines were spun off into a new company, Callinex. The properties in Callinex's portfolio have been selected for their potential to host large, high grade and or polymetallic deposits. The projects' locations near existing mining infrastructure, gives the projects a head start towards feasibility, even in times of low metal prices.
The governments of both Manitoba and British Columbia are both developmentally oriented, and actively recognize and encourage the mineral exploration business. Callinex's management has a long track record of establishing producing resources in the Province of Manitoba, and around the world. The company's extensive property portfolio and strong capital structure are the cornerstones upon which management plans to build the next great Canadian mining company.
