Dan’s practice often involves challenges to laws and police conduct based on the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This includes the right to privacy, the right to counsel, and the principles of fundamental justice. He has defended countless cases with clients charged with cannabis-related offences. In 2016, he was counsel in R. v. Pham, where Justice Code of the Superior Court of Justice declared that minimum jail sentences for cultivation of over 500 plants of marijuana were unconstitutional.
