Lisa "Mamakind" is a counterculture journalist, magazine editor, antiprohibition activist, speaker, MMAR-holder, cannabis sexpert, and author of "SexPot: The Marijuana Lover's Guide to Gettin' It On," and "Happy Buds.".

She lived in Israel, and attended the Universities of Lethbridge, Calgary and Poona (Pune, India), studying Religious Studies, with concentrations in Hinduism and Jainism, as well as Journalism at SAIT.

Mamakind has contributed to a variety of cannabis and non-cannabis media, like Cannabis Culture, SKUNK, High Times, Penthouse, CNN, National Geographic Explorer, and The Huffington Post, as writer, editor, and source.

She founded the Sunshine Coast Compassion Club Society, created the first hemp-based infant cereal, and was convicted of growing medical cannabis. 

Mamakind won a lengthy legal battle with the State of Oregon, that kidnapped her son because "sex & pot journalists are bad parents."

She was the first female blogger on Celebstoner.com, and Hustler Canada's first "Asshole of the Month" columnist.

Mamakind was the international guest speaker at Mardi Grass 2012, in Australia.

Mamakind started MCSAM: Marijuana Consumers Support & Advocacy Movement, and after successfully negotiating with schools & boards to allow her son access to cannabinoid therapy within the school, she is writing a book about parenting & pot.
