Quartz Mountain Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: QZM; OTCBB: QZMRF) is a mineral exploration and development company based in Vancouver, Canada. It has acquired 100% interest in the Buck gold-silver property (the “Buck Property”) located in central British Columbia (BC).
The Buck Property consists of 135 mineral claims located near the Town of Houston, in central BC. The western part of the property is accessible by secondary roads that traverse the area.
Exploration work has shown the presence of a zone of epithermal gold-silver mineralization, similar in age and character to other BC Upper Cretaceous mineral occurrences such as New Gold’s Blackwater deposit (Indicated resources of 165 million tonnes grading 1.01 g/t gold and Inferred resources of 39 million tonnes grading 0.94 g/t gold; September 2011), New Gold’s Capoose deposit (Indicated resources of 31.2 million tonnes grading 0.38 g/t gold and Inferred resources of 37.3 million tonnes grading 0.37 g/t gold; September 2011) and Amarc’s Newton gold prospect.
Historical drilling, trenching and geological mapping has shown the gold-silver zone occurs within an alteration zone extending at least 700 metres in an east-west direction and 600 metres in a north-south direction. As previous work was concentrated in this area, the remaining parts of the 55,998.46 hectare property hold potential for additional discoveries.
Quartz Mountain is associated with Hunter Dickinson Inc. (HDI), a diversified, global mining group with more than 25 years of mineral development success.
