Natural gas prices in North America are low relative to constrained gasoline and diesel fuel supply and production. This affords a significant opportunity for the transportation sector to move to a cleaner burning, locally abundant and lower-cost fuel source. The high capital and construction costs for compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling stations is a barrier to adoption by medium to small heavy-duty and medium-duty truck fleets which comprise 50% of the truck population in North America. Kairama’s novel isothermal compression technology radically improves the economics of CNG refueling stations for these fleets and enables accelerated adoption of CNG by North American truck fleets. Kairama will manufacture and sell or lease modular CNG refueling stations with high product margins and a supporting service business.
