The company was incorporated in British Columbia on December 28, 1971 under the name “Cobre Exploration Limited”. On December 14, 1983, the name was changed to “Mountain-West  Resources Inc.”. Then on March 29, 2012, the name was again changed to “Mountainstar Gold Inc”.

Shares are currently listed for trading in Canada on the Canadian National Stock Exchange (“CNSX”) under the symbol “MSX”.

Mountainstar Gold is an exploration stage company primarily involved in the business of acquiring and exploring mineral properties. The company currently has three mining claims in the Elkhorn District in Jefferson County, Montana, and is contemplating acquiring additional mining claims nearby. The company is also investigating the feasibility of acquiring an interest in a tailings remediation project at Juneau, Alaska. Finally, the company is in the process of completing an option agreement to become 50% owner for the Chilean side of a group of claims commonly known as Pascua-Lama.
