About

In 2011 Vulcan Minerals Inc. incorporated Red Moon as a separate subsidiary to hold its mineral assets. These assets consist of the mineral rights in the Bay St. George basin of western Newfoundland including a new potash and salt discovery. During petroleum exploration the Company discovered the Captain Cook potash deposit which consists of a 5 meter gross mineralized interval with varying grades up to 20.40% potassium oxide (K20) at a depth of 287 meters. It occurs in rocks which are geologically similar to those containing the Sussex potash mine in New Brunswick operated and currently under expansion by the Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan.
